Contentment

Gratitude Journal – Day Five

Contentment

True contentment can be found all around us. It exists in the creative choices we make each day and the awareness and appreciation of simple pleasures.

This life-changing discovery doesn’t come from learning new formulas but from finding quiet places in our daily routines. In those simple quiet times we can restore our frazzled minds and embrace the life we have with a fresh outlook.

Ending on a Positive Note: Lord, thank you for slowing me down and teaching me to stop and appreciate all the blessings in my life.

Nancy Spicka: Agnes, that is exactly the way I feel. I thank God everyday for everything about my life. I don’t pray just to ask for more, I’m thankful for what I already have. This is the most contented I’ve ever been in my life.

Agnes: After five years of illness and losing family and friends that I loved, I am taking what comes my way and learning to be satisfied. Contentment is a good place to be, isn’t it?

Sarah MacRae Muller: How true! My Dad used to say that “Happiness is a decision.” We can choose to be content and happy or choose not to. When we do choose happiness, our world becomes peaceful and joyous.

Agnes: I love the way your Daddy thinks.

Sarah MacRae Muller: Oh, I did, too! He was such an inspiration and my mentor. He went home on August 19th. He was such a good man (and also my first love and my dear, dear friend).

Agnes: I was blessed with parents like that too. What a blessing!
