About Agnes

Welcome to Simple Everyday Life

My name is Agnes, (Agnes Ann, Aggie, Aggie Jo, Anchor Girl, Ma) or just plain old Ag. I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and longtime volunteer. My approach to life has always been a friendly smile, a positive attitude, and a deep concern for helping others.

I was born in rural Kentucky to loving parents who were wonderful examples of common sense and perseverance who taught my brothers and me the importance of giving back, being fair, being kind, and loving God.

My life was blessed growing up in a more innocent time during the 50s and 60s in a community where friends remain friends for life.

After a successful non-profit career, over fifty years of active volunteer service, and a speaking ministry focused on living a life in balance, I was just starting to enjoy retirement when my oldest daughter was diagnosed with stage-IV cancer. Caring for her became my top priority and my speaking and blogging were put aside.

When she lost her battle, my life was changed forever. I didn’t know who I was for a long time. I didn’t fit anywhere. I was unsure as to where life was going but knew I had to find a way back regardless of how my life had changed.

God’s faithfulness provided me with strength, family and good friends to surround me with love and support. My granddaughters blessed me with a constant gift of pure joy.

My husband and i downsized to find a new freedom living with less. We now live a simple lifestyle in Cincinnati, Ohio. Life is different but good. We are content and at peace.

I am where I belong. Heading into my twilight years with a pretty good understanding of who I am and why I am here. So grateful to have learned the importance of ordinary days and living in the moment. Living long enough to find I am comfortable with my own company.

Resuming my blog with a fresh look and a renewed insight, I am once again sharing my thoughts and perspectives on my simple, everyday life.

Hugs and Blessings,

Agnes

“When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

Oh, Aggie. I have so enjoyed reading your blog and your website! I would love to come and hear you speak and I may just show up at your next engagement in West Chester.

I have been thinking back when we were kids and you first came to North Norwood. You were just the cutest with the best accent ever. I was reminesing to Kim yesterday about this.

Just wanted to let you know that I am so enjoying meeting you all over again!

    • Thanks for your comments Sue! I’m glad you like my blog. It is something I have been wanting to do for a long time.

What fun times we had at North – when I first moved to Norwood my accent was so thick I’m surprised anyone could understand me. So glad we have rediscovered each other after all these years. I’ll call and we’ll get together soon.
